Training Policy

Please take note of the following.

Marana Global Services Ltd believes that training is an opportunity for improvement. We are strongly committed to the quality and integrity of our courses, and we will take every necessary action to ensure that our training conforms to applicable local and international industry standards.

It is our commitment to provide competent Instructors/Trainers, safe and comfortable environment, and all necessary facilities to achieve training objectives.

Relating to training, no employee or representative of Marana Global shall compromise on the set standards or take any action/decision that may conflict any of our policies.

As a company, we will always look for improvement opportunities in line with best industry standards.

Trainning Completion, Assessment and Certification

All participants shall be required to complete their training and take assessments within a maximum duration of 30 days or within such period as shall be specified by Marana Global Services Ltd. Participants who fail to complete their training and assessments within the period specified will have to submit another registration and make payment for the course if they so wish to complete the training.

At Marana Global Services Ltd, certificates shall be issued only after satisfactory assessment. Participants shall be required to take prescribed assessments comprising continuous assessment (CA) and final examination. The CA and final examination shall be assessed independently, and participants shall be required to score a minimum specified score in each to qualify for certification.

Marana Global Services Ltd shall reserve the right to revoke any previously issued certificates, or refuse to issue certificates to a participant if at any point, it is discovered that the participant has engaged in malpractices, plagiarism or other misconducts in the course of the assessment.

Safety Policy

Marana Global Services Ltd is continuously committed to demonstrating safety leadership by working in line with global best practices and setting relevant targets to improve our overall HSE performance and that of our partners. We believe in proactive safety approach and prevention of accident using the hazard and effect management process. Hence, the company will continue to demonstrate commitments towards achieving Goal Zero through implementation of sound HSE-Management System. We will always carry out hazard identification and deploy effective controls to prevent failures. The company shall also design adequate recovery measures to manage any incident that may occur during our operations.

At Marana Global, we understand our obligations to always provide adequate personal protective equipment for all personnel while at work and it shall be our duty to continually uphold high safety standards at all times in line with current best practices in the industry.

Health Policy

The protection of workers’ health is a top priority at Marana Global Services Ltd. We shall always strive to identify and reduce health risks to as low as reasonably practicable during operations. The company shall take reasonable care to monitor and control impacts on workers’ health and prevent occupational illnesses, diseases and injuries to people. Every personnel shall be responsible to contribute towards a healthy and accident-free work environment for our organization.

In line with best industry standards, the company shall be committed to the provision of adequate protective equipment for any worker who may be exposed to hazardous conditions that may impact on their health and safety.

Sexual Harrassment Policy

Marana Global Services Ltd is committed to providing a safe working environment free of discrimination and sexual harrassment in all our locations. We will uphold a zero tolerance policy for any form of sexual harassment in the workplace, and we will
treat all incidents seriously and promptly investigate all allegations of sexual harassments. Any person
found to have sexually harassed another will face disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal
from employment.
All complaints of sexual harassment will be treated with respect and in confidence. Marana Global Services Ltd will adequately protect victims of sexual harrassment to avoid any kind of discrimination or victimisation.

Environmetal Policy

Marana Global Services Ltd understands that environmental protection is key to business sustainability. It is our goal to continually reduce the impacts of our operations on the environment and apply all practicable measures to minimize environmental pollution using best available technologies in the industry.

The company shall always demonstrate commitments towards improved environmental performance by continually reducing and managing our aspects in line with best industry standards.

Quality Policy

Marana Global Services Ltd shall always strive for excellence in product and service quality as a strategy to build relationship of mutual trust with customers, employees, suppliers, and the community at large. The company will develop systems to identify, analyze and meet customer requirements to ensure satisfaction at all times. We will also set quality performance objectives and develop means to measure results, assess performance and effectively address nonconformities in processes, services and product quality. It is our responsibility to ensure that our products and services comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.

Marana Global will continue to pursue compliance with best applicable industry standards as we strive to ensure that our products and services are quality, safe and reliable.

Drug, Smoking and Alcohol Policy

Marana Global shall maintain a strict regulation regarding the use of drugs, alcohol and cigarettes in all facilities. The company shall reserve the right to deny access to any person or contractor who, in the opinion of management, is in an unfit state to perform in a safe manner due to influence of drug, alcohol, smoking or other substances.

Medications may be allowed only with prescriptions given by a physician. Personnel who are on such prescriptions must inform the management through their supervisors. Consumption of alcohol and use of illegal drugs or related substances is strictly prohibited at Marana Global. Smokers may only use areas designated for smoking where such areas exist, otherwise, smoking shall be prohibited in all our facilities.

Security Policy

Marana Global Services Ltd is committed to safety and security in all our facilities. We shall deploy appropriate measures to identify, evaluate, manage and mitigate the possibility of any security threat to our people and assets.

The company shall always cooperate with state security personnel and local community to protect lives and properties. We believe that managing security issues require a tripartite collaboration between the immediate community, the company (Marana Global) and statutory bodies.

Cashless Policy

At Marana Global Services Ltd, we have strong commitment to encourage cashless transactions in all our business operations. It is therefore our policy not to take or make cash payment in respect to any services for, or by the company, directly or indirectly.

All transactions relating to payments shall be done using either direct bank deposits, cheques, electronic transfers, online banking, and any other means that the company may approve other than physical cash payment.

General Terms & Conditions

While you train at Marana Global, please take note of the following, in addition to other policies and directives of Marana Global Services Ltd:

  1. To be admitted for training at Marana Global, you must complete the registration procedure within the time stipulated for the course.
  2. Payment must be made complete and in line with our Cashless Policy.
  3. The Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Level 1 and Level 2 courses are designed for non-graduates only. These courses are suitable for holders of senior school certificates, undergraduates and apprentices.
  4. General HSE, HSE Level 3 and Advanced HSE courses are for degree holders such as Higher National Diploma (HND), Bachelor degree or equivalent from local and international higher institutions recognized by ISPON.
  5. To attend the HSE Level 3 (HSE Supervision) course, you must present a valid General HSE as a requirement, alongside your degree certificate. Undergraduates, holders of Ordinary National Diploma and other degrees lower than HND or BSc are not qualified to attend HSE Level 3 training.
  6. After your training, you will be certified by Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) as empowered by the ISPON Act 2014, unless where the course is not listed as ISPON course or where you specifically requested for certificates other than that issued by ISPON.
  7. All courses designed by Marana Global Services Ltd are certified by the company with the support of our technical partners.
  8. All Instructors/Trainers at Marana Global are competent safety professionals who have been proven to deliver quality and guarantee required improvements for training participants.
  9. Ability to speak, write and read basic English is a major requirement for all our professional courses as we train using English language. This requirement also applies to foreigners and speakers of other international languages.
  10. It is your duty to ask for course-specific requirements or check details on our website prior to your registration for any course at Marana Global.
  11. All participants, including those who are on Distance Learning must complete their courses and take assessments within the time stipulated, unless where an extension is approved following request by the participant.
  12. The maximum duration to complete HSE Level 1, HSE Level 2, General HSE or HSE Level 3 course is 30 days beginning from the day course materials are provided to participants or the day access is granted to the training platform. Advanced HSE and Certified Safety Supervisor has a maximum duration of 60 days. Contact Marana Global to ask about maximum duration for other courses that we offer. All assessments and examinations must be completed within the maximum time allowed.
  13. In the event that you are unable to complete your training within the specified duration, you may request for an extension up to twice with a maximum period of 15 days in total (either seven days twice or 15 days once) to enable you round up the training. All requests for extension are subject to approval by Marana Global Services Ltd.
  14. Effective from 1st August, 2021, participants who fail to complete their training as required will have to register for the course again if they so wish to continue.
  15. You are expected to participate in all exercises applicable to your training as part of your assessment. These will include class works, syndicate exercises, discussions, presentations, take home assignments, quizzes, final examination, etc.
  16. All continuous assessments will be done by trainees and submitted by email to assessment@maranaglobal.com. Final examination will be taken online.
  17. A minimum of 50 marks is required as pass mark for our training. This is equivalent to minimum of 30 marks out of 60 marks in continuous assessment, and minimum of 20 marks out of 40 marks in the final examination.
  18. If you feel you need more time to pass the assessment and examination, you may request by email to defer the submission of your continuous assessment, or defer your final examination up to a maximum of seven days subject to approval by Marana Global.
  19. A complete and satisfactory assessment is mandatory for your certification. If you are unable to pass the continuous assessment or final examination, you will be required to pay a resit fee of NGN15,000 (fifteen thousand naira only) for each failed examination. A payment of NGN25,000 (twenty-five thousand naira only) will be apply where a participant needs to repeat both the continuous assessment and final examination.
  20. You shall not be allowed more than two sittings for a given examination. A minimum of three days or 72 hours shall be required before retaking any failed examination.
  21. In our quest for improved environmental performance and pursuance of Goal 2021 to reduce paper usage in line with ISO 14001 EMS, some of the training guides and manuals shall be provided to you electronically through email, electronic storage media or other means appropriate for the company. Also, all assignments, class works, syndicate exercises, training attendance, registration, etc shall be done electronically and submitted to dedicated email address where applicable. The use of papers for these shall be strongly discouraged as much as possible. See our Environmental Policy for more.
  22. Lateness to class and general misconduct are not allowed during training at Marana Global.
  23. In line with our Safety Policy and Security Policy, it is our duty to provide a safe environment fit for purpose. Nevertheless, you have the personal responsibility to look after your belongings and take charge of your safety. You agree to indemnify us and our partners of any damages or losses whatsoever that may arise from your use of our facilities.
  24. You are required to collect your certificate from our office within 30 days from the date you received notice to do so. Marana Global does not accept liability for certificates that are not collected as at when required. Upon your request, the certificate may be shipped to your preferred location using standard courier service at your own cost and liability.
  25. All participants on Distance Learning or Virtual Classroom are entitled to free certificate shipment to their registered address anywhere in Nigeria. This is subject to other T&Cs as may be reviewed from time to time, including minimum order requirement set by the company. International trainees who want their certificates shipped abroad will pay for such shipment.
  26. You are prohibited from editing, copying, unauthorized sharing or transferring, transforming, etc of our training materials, presentation slides, videos, manuals, textbooks, case studies, and other resources that you may be provided for the purpose of your training at Marana Global or any of our training partners. You agree that such acts will constitute criminal act and may be addressed under the laws of Federal Republic of Nigeria.
  27. All assignments, assessments, videos, etc submitted in the course of your training will remain properties of Marana Global. You declare that all assessments, group works, assignments, etc submitted in the course of your training are your original works and concepts and you agree to transfer ownership of the materials to the company. You also agree to indemnify us and our partners from damages and liabilities arising from your breach of any copyright agreement whatsoever.
